G's Trailer of the Day: Strange Days (1995)

It's New Years Eve so lets go with a New Years Eve film. '95's Strange Days starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Basset, Juliet Lewis, and Michael Wincott (one of my favorite villain-actors). This film is a tremendous Sci-Fi action film with more than a touch of Cyberpunk. Produced by James Cameron and Directed by Kathryn Bigelow following her '91 film Point Break and years before '09's masterpiece The Hurt Locker.

In the last days of the New Year and millennium, former police officer Lenny Nero (Fiennes) is dealing SQUIDS, events recorded from the cerebral cortex. After viewing a string of snuff SQUIDS, Nero discovers a police cover up and must work to unravel the truth before the dirty cops give him the dirt nap. This is a simplistic synopsis of a film that has a lot of subplots and social commentary.
