TRAILER - ALLIGATOR (1980)

A giant alligator is loose in the sewers of Chicago and it's up to troubled cop Robert Forster to stop it before it turns the Windy City into a human smorgasbord.

Incredibly fun monster movie was praised by critics for its solid acting and the satirical script penned by John Sayles. Like Sayle's PIRANHA (1978), ALLIGATOR provides solid thrills that coincide with the obvious "winks" at the audience. The story is actually based on city myths from the 1920s and 1930s about alligators living in the sewers of major cities after wealthy families would flush them down the toilet after they brought them home from vacations to Florida and the critters became too large to handle. What a shitty life they must have had.
