Steve McQueen is tough as nails as Doc McCoy in Peckinpah's classic adaptation of Jim Thompson's pulp masterpiece "The Getaway." Though the novel gives the character a little more depth, and really expands on the Rudy character, this is a pretty faithful adaptation.

I have to be honest, if I had to pick BULLITT or THE GETAWAY, I would probably go with THE GETAWAY but it's damn close. This film is 12 kinds of cool with a finale that doesn't stop until the guns go click.
