Of the few films author Michael Crichton directed, three stand out: WESTWORLD, THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY, and RUNAWAY. WESTWORLD is a classic, but RUNAWAY is kind of a forgotten film from the 80's that deserves another look. This is the type of film Tom Selleck and his mustache should have been making when he had the window of opportunity. Plus, it doesn't get any better than Gene Simmons as a villain...actually it does...actually it gets a lot better...but he isn't terrible here.

IT IS THE FUTURE. Machines intended to do our work are programmed to turn against us. Someone must stop the madman who started it all.
