Poe's Trailer Trash: Death Wish 3 (1985)

Bronson is back and he's older...I mean meaner than ever. From the "so bad it's good" school of film making, Death Wish 3 is the third and final film in the series to be directed by Michael Winner. The movie is so over the top that is almost plays like a comic book movie at times. Bronson is our avenging angel protecting the good people of New York from a vicious street gang led Gavan O'Herlihy. Watching the film recently, I couldn't decide whether or not Winner and company were taking themselves seriously when they made this. Take the finale for instance. It is a lengthy street battle that plays likes something out of a Rambo film. Bronson mows down more scum in this sequence than in almost all of the other films combined. While the original Death Wish is a better film, Death Wish 3 is more fun. Catch it!
