Some may squirm by the title alone, but this low budget horror film about killer worms is suprisingly well made and plays much better than many of the other eco-horror flicks so popular in the 1970s. Director Jeff Lieberman manages to stage some effective shock sequences, particularly near the end when a home slowly fills up with title critters. R.A. Dow turns in a scary performance as the "worm man" who threatens the leads at the climax. Interesting side note: Sylvester Stallone and Kim Basinger auditioned for the lead roles!
