Poe's Trailer Trash: Laserblast (1978)

Made to cash in on the runaway success of science fiction films such as Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Laserblast is a low budget mess that features good stop-motion effects by David Allen. The story of a teenager who becomes obsessed by a laser gun and pendant left behind by an alien spaceship features some of the worst acting since Ed Wood's troupe were hitting the silver screen. The film ended up getting the Mystery Science Theater 300 treatment. David Allen, now considered one of film's greatest stop-motion animators, also animated the science fiction sex adventure: Flesh Gordon.
